Missing Solitude

Charles Schulz, in one of his cartoon strips once said, “I love mankind. It’s people I can’t stand.”

Boy, I am sure feeling that right now. Intensive and frequent encounters with people in general only justify what I’ve thought all along. Hm. Apparently it’s not always so great to be proven right. Observing the dynamics and the daily drama – once a source of amusement and contemplation – has become tiresome.

Simply unbearable.

No wonder Sartre did drugs. He had it right: “Hell is other people.”
